Publication Ethics and Misconduct
Spectapro: Journal of Cultural Currents in Physical Education and Sport Evolution is a peer-reviewed journal. This statement outlines the ethical standards expected of all parties involved in publishing in this journal, including authors, editors-in-chief, editorial boards, peer reviewers, and the publisher. These guidelines refer to the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.
Ethical Guidelines for Scholarly Publication
Publishing in Spectapro contributes significantly to building a coherent and respected body of knowledge. All involved parties—authors, editors, reviewers, publishers, and readers—must uphold ethical conduct throughout the publishing process.
As the publisher, Spectapro upholds integrity at every stage and is committed to maintaining editorial independence from commercial interests.
Research Misconduct
Misconduct includes data fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, and plagiarism. In such cases, the editor must maintain the scientific record's integrity. Based on COPE procedures, suspected violations are reviewed and, if confirmed, the manuscript is rejected or retracted.
Institutions must carry out thorough investigations. Authors, journals, and institutions are jointly responsible for preserving the accuracy of the scientific literature.
Publication Decisions
Editors are responsible for determining which articles to publish based on input from the editorial board and reviewers, while complying with legal standards such as libel, copyright, or plagiarism laws.
Complaints and Appeals
This journal provides a clear complaint process regarding editors, editorial staff, or publishers. Complaints are handled according to COPE standards and may concern citation manipulation, editorial bias, or review process integrity.
Post-Publication Dialogue
Spectapro supports post-publication debate via letters to the editor or moderated online platforms.
Fair Play
Editors assess submissions solely on intellectual merit, regardless of the author's race, gender, religion, nationality, or political beliefs.
Confidentiality
Editorial staff must not disclose manuscript details to anyone other than authorized individuals.
Conflict of Interest
Editors may not use unpublished material in their own work without written consent from the authors.
Data Sharing Policy
Spectapro supports open science and encourages authors to share research data, software, protocols, and methods to enhance transparency and reproducibility.
