Abstract

Televisi tetap memiliki posisi penting dalam ekosistem komunikasi yang semakin terkoneksi dengan platform digital. Namun, klaim mengenai pengaruh televisi terhadap identitas nasional dan perilaku kewarganegaraan perlu dibedakan dari bukti yang hanya menggambarkan proses produksi media. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan proses kerja media televisi yang diamati dalam kegiatan edukasi media dan jurnalistik di Metro TV, Jakarta, serta menafsirkan relevansinya bagi pembelajaran kewarganegaraan melalui literatur ilmiah mutakhir. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif melalui observasi langsung dan dokumentasi kegiatan pada 22 Januari 2026, yang diperkaya dengan studi literatur terarah terhadap artikel ilmiah terbitan 2022-2026. Hasil observasi memperlihatkan rangkaian kerja media yang mencakup peliputan, produksi berita, dan penyiaran program. Temuan tersebut tidak digunakan untuk menyimpulkan perubahan sikap penonton, tetapi sebagai konteks untuk memahami bahwa pesan televisi terbentuk melalui proses kelembagaan sebelum diterima publik. Sintesis literatur menunjukkan empat kontribusi potensial televisi bagi pembelajaran kewarganegaraan, yaitu menyediakan pengalaman audiovisual yang kontekstual, membentuk ruang representasi identitas nasional, memperkenalkan keberagaman, dan memantik partisipasi warga. Kontribusi tersebut bergantung pada akurasi, keberimbangan, inklusivitas representasi, serta kemampuan penonton mengevaluasi pesan secara kritis. Dengan demikian, televisi layak diposisikan sebagai sumber belajar kewarganegaraan yang perlu disertai literasi media, diskusi reflektif, dan verifikasi informasi.
