Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the independent curriculum on student learning outcomes in economics at SMAN 1 Ngemplak. The main objective of this study is to analyze how the implementation of the independent curriculum is related to the achievement of student learning outcomes/grades in economics. This study applies a qualitative descriptive method and the subjects in this study are economics teachers at SMAN 1 Ngemplak and grade 11 students. Data acquisition in the study was collected through 3 techniques, namely observation, interviews and document studies. The final results obtained in this study indicate the influence of the implementation of the independent curriculum on improving student learning outcomes. One of the factors that influences this is because the structure of the independent curriculum frees teachers to organize their learning, study hours are more flexible and students have the freedom to take subjects according to their interests and talents. The learning process feels fun because students learn enthusiastically through the application of various learning models and group projects that hone students' creativity. The obstacles faced in implementing the independent curriculum are the lack of adequate facilities and infrastructure in the classroom, such as the unavailability of projectors, which hinders teachers in implementing learning media. The solution that can be done is that teachers can export various learning media and adjust them to the availability of facilities and infrastructure in the classroom.
